A Burleson mother and her 7-year-old daughter were killed and five others were injured late Sunday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on a wet road, officials said.

About 5:45 p.m., the Quan family's Honda minivan was stopped in the 2300 block of Renfro Street in Burleson, waiting to make a left turn into Cana Baptist Church, when a Ford F-150 pickup did not see the minivan and hit it from behind, Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Dub Gillum said.

The minivan was pushed into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by a Ford Ranger truck.

Lorissa Quan, 36, and her daughter, Hannah Quan, died at the scene. Keith Quan, 40, who was driving the minivan, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in critical condition, Gillum said.

Clair Quan, the couple's 3-year-old daughter, was taken to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth and was in good condition, he said.

The driver of the F-150, Andrew Smith, 30, and two people in the Ranger were injured and hospitalized.

Smith was treated at Texas Health Huguley in Fort Worth and released. Officials are investigating whether he will face any charges, Gillum said.

The driver of the Ranger, Troy Malicoat, 53, was taken with minor injuries to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital. His mother, Elizabeth Malicoat, 81, was taken with serious injuries to the same hospital, he said.
